The 㽶Ƶ Women Society (ULWS) has commenced its annual Summer School Camp tagged, “Omele Ariya 2022”. It is an annual programme organized for school children after the conclusion of their examination period and subsequent commencement of their summer holiday.
The camp, which opened on Monday, August 1, 2022, was established to creatively engage children during the summer holidays. This year’s edition will run till Friday, August 26, 2022.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Adebayo, the Camp Commandant and a teacher at the 㽶Ƶ Women Society Nursery and Primary school, explained that the programme is designed to ensure learning and fun, with 20% covering academics and 80% dedicated to fun, exploration, and entertainment.
“During the period of the camp, children would creatively acquire skills in several areas such as fine arts, coding, music and so much more, in a safe and secure environment’’ he said.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS commended the organizers for their thoughtfulness, putting up a programme of the kind for the kids. He stressed the need to sustain the summer school, which provides an avenue for children to learn useful skills, as well as rejuvenate and mentally prepare them for the future.
