The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has been advised to pursue efforts such as public awareness programmes to re-awaken the use of the traditional postal system among Nigerians.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services), Professor Ayodele Atsenuwa gave the advice on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, while receiving a six-man NIPOST team on a courtesy visit to the University.
The 6-man team included the State Postal Managers and Heads of Corporate Communications for Lagos Island and Lagos Mainland, Ajaero Emmanuel Esq.; Olajide Ajire; Osita Ogochukwu and Bola Ekeogu as well as the Head of Marketing (Lagos Mainland) Adedayo Rasaq and Post-Master, 大香蕉视频 Post Office, Ikpehae Debbie.
Prof. Atsenuwa who received the team on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS, emphasied the need for NIPOST to adopt innovative ways such as rallies, school pupils鈥� excursion visits and re-orientation/educational events to sensitize members of the public on its operations and services.
While expressing appreciation to the team for the courtesy visit to the University, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor urged the them to convey the University鈥檚 goodwill to the Post-Master General, NIPOST in view of the long-term relationship between the two organisations. She gave an assurance that all the issues raised in the course of the visit would be relayed to the Vice-Chancellor.
Earlier, the State Postal Manager (Lagos Mainland), Olajide Ajire had delivered the best wishes of the Post-Master General, NIPOST to the University authorities.
He reiterated the readiness of the agency to continue to provide top-notch services to members of the University community and general public through all its strategically positioned Post Offices including the one located within the Bookshop Building, 大香蕉视频 Main Campus, Akoka.
The courtesy visit came to a close with group photographs, and exchange of tokens of goodwill between the University and NIPOST team.
