As a series of activities lined up to herald the exit of the Vice-Chancellor from office continues, a delegation from the ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ Muslim Alumni Association (UMAA) paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin. T. Ogundipe, FAS in his office at the Senate house.
The delegation led by the UMAA President, Professor Khalid Adekoya disclosed that the visit was to celebrate him and also to show appreciation for his immense contributions towards the growth of the university.
He explained that Prof. Ogundipe’s has been a progressive one with many innovations and developments that one would have thought the ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ is a European or North American University. He expressed to God that the crisis that shook his tenure did not result in his removal or early retirement from the Vice Chancellor’s office.
According to him, Prof. Ogundipe’s quality of leadership has allowed for many unique developmental and research grants won also by both Muslims and non-Muslims within the University.
In response, Professor Ogundipe hailed the leadership of the Association for their thoughtfulness. He described as reputable, the unalloyed institutional loyalty displayed by the Association executives throughout his stewardship as Vice-Chancellor.
While expressing gratitude to them, he extolled the spirit of camaraderie and brotherhood exhibited by the UMAA and charged them to continue to support the leadership of the university.
Thereafter, a gift presentation was made to the Vice-Chancellor.
