The ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ has transferred the management and operations of the ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ Guest Houses to LEKOSA Nigeria Limited, a property development and re-modelling company, for optimum performance.
At the 11th Floor office of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS, the agreements were signed by the parties who represented the Board of the ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ Guest Houses and LEKOSA respectively.
By the terms of the agreement, LEKOSA Nigeria Limited, through AMBER Hospitality Services, will upgrade the facility to 3-star hospitality location and operate it as a full commercial concern. The management will be for a period of 21 years.
Professor Sunday Adebisi, a visibly pleased Board Member of the Guest Houses – who also doubles as Ag. Director of the Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Centre – showered encomium on the Vice-Chancellor for his vision and resilience. His leadership, he said, was the encouragement that the team relied on during the most testing times of the negotiation process.
The Managing Director of LEKOSA Nigeria Limited, Mr Gabriel Osayande, thanked the Professor Ogundipe-led Management of ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ for the confidence reposed in his company to undertake the turn-around project at the Guest Houses. He pledged the very best of his company’s expertise in the delivery of the project.
Vice-Chancellor Ogundipe, FAS, expressed his gratitude to all who were present at the occasion for their diligent efforts, jointly and severally, toward the facilitation of the process. He re-emphasised the determination of his administration to maximise the profit earning potentials of all business units of the university in order to increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the university.
The Registrar, Oladejo Azeez, Esq. Mr. Daisi Olotu and Dr. Bola Ade-Ademilua, both members of the Board of ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ Guest Houses; Head, Legal Services Unit, Mrs Bimbo Durojaye; and Mr Kehinde Akinyemi, a Director at LEKOSA Nigeria Limited were also present at the event.
