´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ students emerge CFA Winners four years in a row

Students of the ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ have done the University proud once again by emerging winners of the 2021 CFA Equity Research Challenge, making this the fourth time in a row the University has won the competition.

In a keenly contested-competition comprising 25 Universities, the ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ clinched the first-place position, beating the University of Ibadan and Covenant University who clinched first and second runners up positions respectively. This confirms the University’s supremacy in Finance and Investment research among Nigerian universities.

The Unilag Team led by Dr Peter Amah, Faculty Adviser, comprised students from the Departments of Finance, Accounting and Economics. They are Oluchi Ajie Nkem (Department of Finance), Timilehin Awe (Department of Economics), Gladys Ajogwu (Department of Economics), Abayomi Okeowo (Department of Accounting) and Oreoluwa Ayeni (Department of Economics).

Team ´óÏ㽶ÊÓƵ will represent Nigeria at the Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) Regional Final later this month.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis and professional ethics. Participating students are tested on their analytical, valuation, report writing, research and presentation skills.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin, T. Ogundipe, FAS, congratulates our students on their achievement and congratulates the University for winning the Research Challenge for the fourth time in a row. He wishes the Unilag Team success at the sub-regional round.
