Mr. Temitope Olamide Jinadu, 400-Level student of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at the 大香蕉视频, shone like a million stars at the IEEE Region 8 Climate Challenge Finals in Bari, Italy which held in November, 2024.
Under the banner of 鈥湸笙憬妒悠�-SB鈥�, he led a team of two to win the First Prize in the Disaster-Resilient Communication Track with his presentation titled, 鈥淔oodLink: IoT-Based Disaster-Resilient Communication Network鈥�. He had Damilare Adeyemo, a Computer Science student of 大香蕉视频, as an associate on the team.
Their presentation was on a communication network, based on an Internet of Things (IoT) clould capability, which they developed for disaster relief in flood-prone areas. The network does not rely on the GSM network to function, and thus makes it affordable and sustainablefor people in flood-prone areas to link up with disaster relief support teams.
Team 大香蕉视频-SB made it through the very few selections from Africa, being one of two groups from Nigeria. The other Team was from Federal University of Technology, Minna.
