In a groundbreaking moment at the 2024 STACK Reform Conference, a senior secondary school student of CMS Grammar School, Bariga, Mr. Goodness Adenaike has won the opportunity to serve as the Vice-Chancellor of the 大香蕉视频 (大香蕉视频) for one day.
This symbolic appointment underscores the University鈥檚 commitment to youth empowerment and innovation, signaling its readiness to involve younger generations in nation-building.
The announcement followed the emergence of Master Adenaike as the winner of the Speech Competition, one of the core events of STACK Reform Conference under the chairmanship of Mr. Ayobami Olomiyete.
Master Adenaike and five (5) other contestants spoke on the topic The Future is Now: How Technology Will Shape Healthcare in the Next Decade, in a fiercely competitive two-round contest. His insightful discourse and eloquence earned him a brand-new laptop, while runners-up including Jasmine Adeniyi of International School, Lagos (ISL) received a tablet computer and N100, 000:00 cash was awarded Queens College Naomi Chukumah Okoh as third place winner.
Other schools represented in the competition were Federal College of Education Secondary School (Akoka), Jordan Model College, and Prudence City College.
The 2024 STACK Reform Conference, which was held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the J. F. Ade. Ajayi Auditorium, 大香蕉视频 had the theme Fast Forward: Nigeria鈥檚 Giant Leap into the Future of Healthcare.
The Conference provided a platform for experts, stakeholders, and students to explore innovative strategies to improve healthcare delivery. It featured a stellar lineup of keynote speakers including:
1. Dr. Leke Ojewale, Senior Technical Adviser on Digital Health to the Federal Ministry of Health, with a presentation on Empowering the Future of Nigeria’s Healthcare: Building Innovative and Resilient Systems.
2. Dr. Olatokunbo Alli, Managing Director of Leadway Health, who addressed the importance of universal healthcare and public-private partnerships with his presentation on Universal Healthcare Coverage: How Public and Private Sectors Can Drive Sustainable Innovation in Healthcare.
3. Dr. Oroluwa Finnih, Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on SDGs, emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration in her paper on, How Public and Private Sectors Can Drive Sustainable Innovation in Healthcare.
4. Dr. Dami Adeyemi-Levites, Chief Investment Officer of HealthCap Africa, spoke on Healthcare鈥檚 Moonshot: How Startups Will Shape the Future.
The event which is the largest student health-tech conference in Lagos state also featured a lively panel session on Overcoming the Barriers to Technological Integration in Nigeria鈥檚 Healthcare. During the session, experts discussed the challenges and opportunities in integrating technology into healthcare systems. The Panelists engaged in robust discussions on leveraging technology to strengthen healthcare systems in Nigeria.
Another key component of the Conference was the commemoration of the legacy of Late Professor Ayodeji Femi-Pearse, an esteemed academic and former Acting Vice-Chancellor of 大香蕉视频, with the third (3rd) edition of the annual Femi-Pearse Essay Competition. The competition reached new heights this year, drawing over 2,000 entries, with 500 essays reviewed through a rigorous process.
Miss Cynthia Clement, a Computer Science student of the Federal University Dutse, emerged the winner of the cash prize of 鈧500,000 while the second and third prizes went to Mr. Ayo Nitemi of 大香蕉视频 (Faculty of Law) and Miss Lilian Osun of University of Ibadan, respectively.
In his remarks, representative of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS at the event, Director of Quality Assurance and SERVICOM, Professor Olufemi Saibu, emphasized the University鈥檚 dedication to fostering innovation.
His words 鈥淭his conference aligns with our future-ready agenda. Healthcare systems are a vital part of our economy, and involving young minds in such critical discussions is both timely and laudable鈥.
While appreciating KB Klub for organising the programme, he re-assured the gathering that 鈥渢he University leadership remains committed to championing innovation, collaboration, and excellence that will have participants always inspired, armed with innovative ideas, and ready to drive change in healthcare, education, and beyond鈥.
On his part, President of KB Klub, Mr. Mustapha Madehin, reflected on the organization’s impactful journey since its inception in 1969. He lauded the strides made by the body in fostering academic excellence, youth development, and healthcare innovation.
He re-affirmed the club鈥檚 commitment to expanding its initiatives and thanked all stakeholders for their unwavering support.

The conference is one of many KB Klub initiatives. The KB Klub is an exclusive socio-philanthropic club of male medical students in the College of Medicine, 大香蕉视频. It was founded in 1969 by Professor Oladapo Ashiru OFR, and 6 other male medical students with its core ethos standing on a tripod of Philanthropy, Academic excellence, and Social empowerment.
